Earning High School Credits Online
The sun is shining, students are celebrating, and educators are fretting about the dreaded “summer slide”! So what do we do at GlobalED to prevent our students from losing ground over the summer? Is it possible for them to even push ahead and try something new over the summer? The answer is clearly, “Yes!”
GlobalED offers three ways for our students to earn credit over the summer:
Getting Ahead - GlobalED students may enroll in up to two courses over the summer to earn high school credits online. Summer is a great time to focus on a challenging subject that may seem like too much during a regular busy school year or to make progress but on a lighter schedule.
CTE Certification - Summer is a great time for students to gain work experience. We offer certifications students can earn over the summer that will help them find employment in specific fields. This summer, we are offering a Babysitting Basics certification course in conjunction with the Red Cross and a Food Handler/Food Safety certification course that culminates with a ServSafe Food Handler Certificate.
Credit Recovery - Like all schools, GlobalED has students who, for some reason or another, were not able to complete their 2020-2021 courses before the spring semester came to an end. These students can breathe a sigh of relief! We offer them the opportunity to complete up to two online summer courses for high school students that they could not complete during the school year with support from our online teachers.
Our students have many opportunities this summer! They can definitely take time to relax and enjoy the summer. Still, they also can earn high school credits online, get ahead in their academics, or earn a workplace certification!
